Jacqueline Frances McCracken, 84, died peacefully at her home.

She was born on September 14th, 1928, the daughter of Harold Van Busch and Marie Kress and was raised in Rockville Center and Southampton NY.

She was a graduate of Marymount School, Tarrytown, NY. She attended Blackstone College, Blackstone, VA, The College of New Rochelle, New Rochelle, NY and Parsons School of Design, New York City.

In 1957, Jackie married Philip Stanley McCracken and they made their home in Old Westbury and Southampton, NY until she moved to Vero Beach in 1979.

Mrs. McCracken was an avid gardener and an accomplished artist and quite active in this community. She was a founding member of the Vero Beach Museum of Art (formally The Center for the Arts), serving one year as president of their Community Committee. She also served as president of St. Edwards School�s Parents Association.

At various times she opened her home to the ARC�s Million Dollar Dinner, The Republican Women�s Aware�s Christmas House, The Indian River Garden�s Club Annual Flower Show and The Vero Beach Art Museum �Dining Around.�

Jackie was a member of the Holy Cross Women�s Guild, the Republican Women�s Aware and the Jasmine Circle Garden Club. She was a former member of the Moorings Club and Riomar Bay Yacht Club.

She is survived by daughter, Patrice Richards and son-in- law, Edward of Savannah GA, son, Scott McCracken of Vero Beach, son, Peter McCracken of Shelter Island, NY; sister, Sr. Victoria Busch R.S.H.M, Tarrytown, NY; grandchildren, Samantha and Shannon McCracken of Vero Beach and aunt, Patricia Van Busch, Miami, FL.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m., March 7th, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
