Jeanette Crouch Stewart, age 76, gained her angel wings on July 5, 2018 after a lengthy illness. She passed peacefully in her home with family. Jeanette was born in Indianapolis, IN. to William and Roberta (Randle) Crouch, both predeceased her.

Jeanette and her high school sweetheart Stu were married in Danville, IN., in 1961. They moved to Vero Beach, FL. in 1985.

She graduated Danville High School and was active in Job’s Daughters and was elected Princess. She was also involved in ESA Sorority for many years. She was a beautician in her early years. Later she was self employed for 25 years in Vero Beach, FL.

Jeanette had a heart of gold and everyone that knew her, loved her. She was a shining example to all. She led her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren by example and they were very blessed to have her for a role model and a friend. She also was a mentor through the years to many young women and was such a loving, giving and caring person. She had such a heart for the underprivileged. Jeanette spent the last year of her life on Home Hospice and fought her illnesses with bravery, dignity and grace. It was such a gift to be able to take care of her at home and spend such quality time with her.

She was married to Larry (Stu) Stewart in June of 1961; he predeceased her in July of 2016. Other survivors are her children; Jo Lynn Hahn (Tom) of Port Saint Lucie, FL and son Robert (Bo) Stewart of Vero Beach, FL. Jeanette was a wonderful Grandmother (they called her Nanny) to 4 children, Jenifer who predeceased her in 1985, Joshua Kile, Joe Bryant and Brittany King (Colter), all of Vero Beach, FL. She was also a Great Nanny to 4 children, Hayden, Gunner, Abigail and Wyatt all of Vero Beach. She got such joy out of these little ones the last several years and always looked forward to their visits.

She is also survived by her three siblings, Larry Crouch (Nancy) of La Grange, TX , Steven Crouch (Awilda) of San Antonio, TX and Sharon Davis of Indianapolis, IN. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and brother/sisters in law and cousins. She leaves many good friends too. She has also left so many cherished memories.

She passed peacefully at home surrounded by love and always had good friends at her side.

There are no services planned at this time. The family will celebrate privately. In lieu of flowers Jeanette’s favorite charity was Wounded Warriors or Hospice of Vero Beach, FL.

Alan and I were so sad to hear about your family’s loss of your cherished Mother and Grandmother. Janette was a very special lady with a sweet soul. I know she’s in a better place now but that doesn’t help your missing her. May the peace that passes all understanding be with y’all during this time and as you try and transition through. Love you dearly!

My deepest sympathy to all of you. Janette was a good friend, especially while we were growing up, newly married & young motherhood. We also had lots of fun in high school. I loved going to their apt and getting to watch beautiful JoLynn grow from infancy thru toddler years, while she worked her magic with my hair. She even did my hair for my wedding! I will always have wonderful memories of her. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. May you rest in peace, my dear friend! Love…Louanne (Stephens) Feist
