Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Jerzy Gostebski, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, in Tampa, Florida, at Moffitt Cancer Center at the age of 69. Born on September 3, 1955, in Zawada, Poland, Jerzy’s journey through life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.
Jerzy’s early years were spent in New Britain, CT where he developed a strong work ethic and a love for learning. He graduated from Goodwin Technical School, a testament to his intelligence and determination. His career began as an appliance technician, where he became known for his ability to fix anything. Later, he transitioned into property management, a field in which he excelled until his retirement.
Jerzy was a man of deep faith and moderate religious devotion, guided by the principles of Christianity. His life was a reflection of these values, characterized by kindness, patience, and strength. Known for his quiet demeanor, Jerzy was always willing to lend a helping hand, especially to his children and grandchildren. He possessed a remarkable ability to teach and inspire, passing on his vast knowledge of cars and repairs to his son, grandson, and son-in-law.
Above all, Jerzy cherished his family. He was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren: Aniela, Liam, Aiden, Lynora, and Alexander, who brought immense joy to his life. Jerzy’s legacy of love and wisdom will be carried on by his devoted wife, Barbara Gostebski, his daughter Elena Nostra, his son Daniel Gostebski, and his daughter Milena Kelly.
Friends and family are invited to honor Jerzy’s life on Friday, May 16, 2025. The family will greet friends at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, 1655 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Helen’s Catholic Church at 12:00 p.m.

I’m sending my condolences, prayers and love to my family members at this difficult time. I was feeling sad to hear of my uncle Jerry’s illness and he’s been in my thoughts everyday. I always remember my several trips to Florida many years ago to see my uncle and family and how amazing Florida was to experience.
