John Frasca Jr. was born May 23rd1946 in the Bronx, NY to parents John and Jaye Frasca. John died of a heart attack at his home in Vero Beach, FL on August 29, 2015. John was a loving, caring father and grandfather to his son Brian and his granddaughter Evelyn.

John played varsity baseball and football at Garden City High School (Class of 64) and received a baseball scholarship to Bridgeport University (Class of 68) and later received his masters in physical education from Adelphi University. At Bridgeport he ran the bases in 15 seconds flat. John was a member of the National Guard from 1969-1970. John went on to coach track and football at Garden City High School in the 1980s with his beloved friend Warren King. John was a physical education teacher at Washington Street School in Franklin Square for 28 years prior to a car accident that ended his teaching career in 1998. John loved to coach and teach and had a flair for instilling confidence in those around him. If Reggie Jackson, one of his favorites, was the straw who stirred the drink, it was John who added the flavor. He enjoyed helping others more than himself and if it had to do with sports John Frasca wanted to be a part of it. For more than 35 years John worked for the Garden City Recreation in various positions from Lifeguard at age 17 to attendant at Grove Street Park to tennis instructor to head of the town softball league for 22 years. His speed and tenacious outlook on life earned him the nickname the bull and it was fitting because he didnt take any and he would be the first to tell you if you were full of it, not to mention you did not want him charging at you.

In 2005 John moved to Vero Beach, FL to ride his bike, swim and work on his tan. In 2009 he started Home Watch of the Treasure Coast, a business in which he helped Snowbirds maintain their residences while up North. He was also active with his condo board where he was the former president and the local V where he was recently voted vice president

John was married a few times and would sometimes exclaim my former wives all had the same name; plaintiff which led to his portrayal in a Palm Beach Post Newspaper Comic Strip by his late friend Ed Hechtman.

John is survived by his son Brian Frasca, 36; his granddaughter Evelyn Frasca, 7; and his brother Robert Frasca, 74.
