John L. Hesse, of Vero Beach Florida, passed away peacefully on July 17, with family members at his side.

John was born November 5, 1956 to John D. and Elizabeth M. Lennon Hesse.

John graduated from Allegany Central School, in 1975, and then enlisted in the US Army. He served for four years. He later returned to Allegany and worked for Erie Builders.

In 1986, he moved to Florida and worked at various construction companies before his early retirement due to his illness.

While in Florida, John’s favorite pastime was fishing with his good buddy, Randy. John never knew a stranger – everyone he met became his friend, especially Junior and Shorty.

He is survived by three sisters, Mary (Gary) Sirianni of Olean, NY; Joan Hesse of Vero Beach, Fl; Margaret (Tom) Nuss of Allegany, NY; two brothers, Michael (Phyllis) Hesse of West Columbia, SC and William Hesse of Vero Beach, FL; three nieces, Sarah (Sean) Maxwell, Shannon Hesse and Bianca Hesse.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Joseph Hesse.

Per his request, he will be cremated and a service will be held at a later date.

Memorials if desired can be made to The Allegany Area Historical Association, PO Box 162, Allegany, NY 14706 or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Sorry to here about John’s death. I worked with “Hesse” as he was known, for 14 years. Hesse was a hard worker and even a more lover of life person . Loved to fish, he always had a rod and reel available! My condolences to the Hesse family. Baker, “as he called me”
