Jose Antonio Armella, age 91, passed away July 31, 2026, in Vero Beach, Florida.

He was born in Barranquilla, Colombia to the late Italian Consul stationed in Colombia, Luis Armella Ujueta (father) and Matilde Armenta Gerlain de Armella (mother).

Jose was a graduate of Besancon University, Paris, France and ESAP, The Superior School of Public Administration, Bogota, Colombia.

Throughout his distinguished life, Jose served in numerous leadership roles. He was a former Member of the Colombian House of Representatives (Congress), General Manager of the Norte de Santander Liquor Distillery, an innovative entrepreneur who founded businesses in women’s footwear manufacturing and polyethylene bag production, a respected professor of electricity at SENA and the Salesian Technical School, and a successful real estate developer in Cucuta, Colombia, and South Beach, Florida. He retired from Agrimor Int’l CO, Aventura, Florida in 2017 where he worked for more than fourteen years as LATAM Manager.

Together with his beloved wife, Judith, Jose was a devoted member of María Auxiliadora Parish in Cucuta, Colombia, and later of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida.

Jose will be remembered for his generous spirit, genuine compassion, and unwavering concern for others. His heart was shaped by a deep Christian faith and by the lessons he learned during his years with the Salesians, where he came to understand that every person carries his or her own struggles. Because of this, he chose compassion over judgment and kindness over criticism throughout his life.

Survivors include; daughters, Matilde Patricia Armella de Uribe and Zenaida Armella-Barbier; son, Marcos J. Armella; granddaughter, Alejandra Uribe; grandson, Guillermo Uribe; son-in-law, William Uribe and Marcel Barbier Andrino.

My gentleman , my first love , my superhero , has been called Home, into the loving arms of Our Lord. Rest in Peace, my beautiful Daddy ️. And now, you are finally reunited with the love of your life, my precious Mommy .
My heart finds comfort knowing that what was once separated on earth has been made whole again in Heaven. Together, you are forever surrounded by God’s eternal love, where there is only perfect peace.
Thank you, from the deepest part of my soul, for everything you gave me, for every sacrifice, every lesson, every embrace, every prayer, and every unconditional act of love. I am who I am because of you.
You will forever be my greatest example, and one of Heaven’s brightest angels.

Soy quien soy gracias a tu formación incansable.
