Joseph Alden Gray, Sr., age 85, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away on September 6, 2015.
He was born in Bucksport, Maine to parents, Florence Brockway & Lewis Linwood Gray.
Mr. Gray retired after 25 years of service as Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. He was a volunteer with the Indian River County Sheriff Department for 18 years.
He was a loving and giving person with charities, family and especialy his loving pets, Lexy and Shorty.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Gray and daughter, 3 daughters, Ellen Mott of Port Orange, FL; Jeanne Maglietta of Smithville, NJ; Sharon Yank of Hamilton, NJ; 3 sons, Bryant Gray and Steven Gray both of Orland, ME; Ken Gray of Vero Beach; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Joseph Gray.
The family will greet friends from 12 to 12:30, Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 12:30.
