Josephine passed quietly on January 2nd surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Pittston, Pa. After high school she worked at the Rex Shoe Company where she met her future husband Anthony (Tony) Rubino. They married and enjoyed 65 years together. They began their journey south first to the Naval base in Key West before relocating to Hialeah, Fl, Pembroke Pines, Fl and then retiring in Fort Pierce, Fl. She worked for Peoples Gas and then Sears until she retired. Josephine was an ardent reader and enjoyed working multiple crossword puzzles daily. She shared her love of her Italian heritage through her cooking and hosting many dinner parties featuring her famous ravioli’s and cannoli’s. Josephine will be remembered for her generous and caring spirit. She was a member of Saint Helens Catholic Parish and had a strong belief in her faith.

The family would like to thank Josephine’s special caregivers, Judy with VNA and Austine and Lisa with Hospice House for their wonderful and loving care.

Loving wife of Anthony Rubino; devoted mother of Linda Smith, Lisa Welch (Ron), Tonimarie Rubino, loving Nannie to George (Vanessa) Smith and Robin (Richard) Cappetto and great grandsons George Marino and Anthony Rocco, late brother Louis Proietto and late sisters Nancy Tomaro, Angela D’Aloia, Faye Pelonero, Mary Gaul and Kathryn Leo.

A Funeral Mass will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2000 20th St., Vero Beach.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
