Lois Jadwin passed away peacefully on December 14, 2022, in Vero Beach, FL with her family by her side.

Born March 4, 1929, in Orange, NJ, Lois was the daughter of Vee and Joseph Breckley. She grew up in Mountain Lakes, NJ, graduating from Mountain Lakes High School. Lois attended Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and graduated in 1951 from Washington University in St. Louis, MO, where she was president of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Lois taught kindergarten in Chatham, NJ and met Edgar Jadwin on a blind date, becoming engaged after just 6 weeks. They wed in 1952. They lived in Madison, NJ and belonged to the Madison Golf Club, where Lois was the 9 Hole Champion in 1965. Lois also competed in tennis and bowling leagues and was active in the Morristown, NJ Junior League, where she was named Outstanding Volunteer in 1963 and 1964. In later years, Lois served on the board of Madison’s Community House, working with facilities. The family spent summers in Normandy Beach, NJ and Ed and Lois retired to Vero Beach, FL in 1991, where they were active members of Vero Beach Country Club.

Lois lost her beloved husband Ed six months ago, just shy of their 70th anniversary.

Lois is survived by daughters Susan Hargens of Madison, NJ, and Peggy Jadwin (Tim Pepowski) of Lake Forest, IL, as well as three grandchildren, Kyle Hargens (Maria), Brett Pepowski and Dana Pepowski, and two great grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
