Our much loved mother, Marcia Byrnes Clements, 81, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, Florida. She was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1935 to Robert and Rose Byrnes.

She grew up in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and graduated from Convent of the Sacred Heart in 1953. She graduated from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia and returned to Grosse Pointe to teach preschool at Convent of the Sacred Heart. In 1972, she and her family moved to Vero Beach, Florida where she lived the rest of her life.

Muzzy, as she was affectionately known to her family, was a voracious reader, loved a good mystery thriller, avid supporter of animals of all kind, rescued and loved countless kittens, a huge Gators fan and follower of many sports teams.

She was so proud of being the owner/operator of Baggy Bunny Gifts, a wonderful boutique store that she ran successfully for 28 years.

Our mom will be missed dearly by her family and friends; her sister Bebe Fitzgibbons O’Reilly, Toledo, Ohio; her son and wife Peter and Kim Clements, Vero Beach; her daughter and husband Katie and Tom York, Richmond, Virginia; her grandchildren whom she was immensely proud of, Lauren Kiser, Chelsea Norris(Jordan), Colby Clements, Colin Kiser and many nieces and nephews. And, her incredible circle of friends that she cherished. Our mother was one of those rare people who connected with you immediately and maintained friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Mom was passionate about her favorite charities, so we ask in memory of her, you consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or to HALO Animal Shelter, 710 Jackson St., Sebastian, FL 32958.

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be ever at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rain fall softly on your fields
And until we meet again, May God hold
you in the hollow of His hand.
