Michelle E. Smith, age 79, passed away at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL.

She was born in Grayslake, Illinois and resided in New York prior to retiring in Florida.

Michelle was an avid sewer and enjoyed painting in her younger years. Her love for animals stayed with her throughout her life and she volunteered at the Indian River County Humane Society and supported “Dogs for Life”.

She was a member of Pathway Church.

Michelle is survived by her sons Wayne (Rebecca) and Dale (Melanie) Borchardt; brother Steve (Marlene) Tuchten; grandchildren Hannah, Daniel, Jessica, John, Correy, Leanne, Anthony Jorge, Heather, and Holly; as well as many loving great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents Sidney and Shirly Tuchten.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Pathway Church, Vero Beach at a later date.

we worked side by side at customer service and money center at walmart for 19 years.She loved God and family and dogs. I treasured her friendship.She will always be in my heart.

I am so sorry for your loss, I knew Michelle when I was in First Church of God, and I used to see her at Walmart all the time. She was a very sweet person. Sending love and prayers to all her family. Haydee Phillips and my son David Tinoco, who is in Walmart right now and found out about she was gone.
