Muncy Gallagher Chapman, 92, died on May 29, 2018, at Indian River Estates in Vero Beach, FL.
She was born on May 22, 1926, in Lakeland, Florida and married Herbert Lee Chapman, Jr. in 1946.
Muncy was deeply devoted to God and loved her family. Her infectious smile spread joy that always impacted those around her. She was a successful businesswoman, author, seamstress, and pianist. She authored 15 published books, both inspirational and historical fiction.
Muncy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Herbert Lee Chapman, Jr. in 2015. She is survived by her four children: Jill Searcy (Charles), Margy Kulczycki (George), Melinda White (Bob), and Lee Chapman (Kathy). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Brad Searcy (Raquel), Dr. Jake Searcy (Jennison), Jeff Searcy (Laura), CDR Garrett Kulczycki, Jan Wiese (Dr. Scott), Wes White (Ashleigh), Kelly Fennemore (Jason), Kevin White (Nathalie), Kristen Hou (Dr. Alex), Kori Dinter (Ben), and Michael Chapman. She also had sixteen great grand children she considered special blessings in her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions may be made in Muncy Chapman’s honor to the United Methodist Children’s Home, 51 Main Street, Enterprise FL 32725; or to Care Net Pregnancy Center of Indian River County, 1503 24th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

I loved Muncy and Herb so much when they lived in our neighborhood in Castaway Cove. My husband Don Wacker and I visited them several times at IRE and played bridge and dined with them. They were beyond kind and friendly to us and we will cherish fond memories of both of them. May your family feel God’s presence and comfort during this difficult time for you.
