Richard Francis Gagliardi, born in New Haven, Connecticut to Ralph and Lena Barone Gagliardi, former longtime resident of Guilford, Connecticut and later moved to Vero Beach, Florida, died peacefully, at 91, on Monday, May 4, 2026.
Richard married the love of his life, Rosemary Tierney in Connecticut where they raised their family, Rosemary (Tui), Rich Jr (Mindy), Geanna and John.
He leaves behind his brother, Ralph, son, Rich, grandchildren, Jena, Tina and Sarah and a beloved son-in-law, Tui.
Rich was predeceased by his wife, Rosemary, siblings, Eddie and Gene and his cherished daughters and son, Rosemary (Tui), Geanna and John.
As a longtime animal and car lover he leaves behind four wonderful dogs that were his trusted companions, Maggi, Coco, MissE and Ginger. And a Model A, one of many cars that he lovingly restored. Dinners with family and friends all around the table was a treasured time as long as he was able to pick up the tab.
We will miss his warmth and tremendous humor as well as the twinkle of mischief he would get in his eye when he was around his loved ones. He is dearly loved and forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to H.A.L.O or to The Humane Society of Vero Beach.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

Rich and Rosemary became part of our family when Rich Jr made the smart decision to marry Mindy. Rosemary and Tom left us way too soon but we have so many wonderful memories. Rich and Rosemary had left CT by the time we met them, but managed to see them in CT and FL whenever we could. I will remember lots of laughs. Rich Sr thinking his hearing had improved when the baby monitor was on the counter behind his head, admitting he and his young friends jumped over my ancestor’s gravestones playing football in St Lawrence Cemetery and, of course, our shared love of our dog family. Time to rest after a life well lived. Love, Annemarie
