DEXTER, Ronald Harvey Born in Dayton, Ohio on June 29, 1933 and late of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away suddenly Monday, February 22, 2016, due to lung cancer complications at IRMC, Vero Beach.

Ron managed Poelking-Woodman Lanes for 25+ years and also spent 30+ years driving for Domino’s Pizza, retiring “for real this time” at the age of 80.

Ron is survived by his wife, Karen (Rutherford) of 62 years, 4 children and spouses, Richard (Lillian Coogan); Douglas (Jeanne Miller Ford); Connie (David Spicer) and Holly (Todd Smith); 6 grandkids: (Lily Carter, Ron Dexter; Jeremy Dexter, Timothy Dexter; Aaron Kinser; Anne (Kinser) Rosetti; 6 great-grandkids: Tyler Turner, LJ Dexter; Peyton Dexter, Ethan Dexter; Graham Dexter; Laina May Rosetti. Also survived by sister Carol Muller and sister-in-law Phyllis (Rutherford), her husband Pat Schulke and many nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward H. and Marjorie (Huston) Dexter, son, Jeffrey Edward Dexter and grandson, Paul Harrison Kinser.

Ron was a 1953 Fairmont High grad. He loved the seniors and his special needs “kids” in the bowling leagues. As “The Pizza Man”, Ron would regale his family with stories of interesting people he met.

He was a story-teller and a traveler who enjoyed every adventure. This next one looks to be a doozy, as when he was leaving this world surrounded by his family, he apparently had his “fishing pole and a few worms to plunk down”.

Ron will be cremated as he wished through Lowther Funeral Home of Vero Beach, Florida and his ashes will be scattered later.

There will be no public viewing but a Celebration of His Life will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM, at his Vero Beach home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks with gratitude that you donate to the
American Cancer Society Relay For Life at the following link: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/rondexter.
