Ronald M. Ryniak, adoring husband, devoted father, and loving grandfather, passed away at the age of 60 in Vero Beach, Florida.

Ron was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on November 22, 1959 to Casimir and Iris Ryniak. Growing up in Southgate, Michigan he graduated from Aquinas High School. Ron received his BA from the University of Notre Dame in 1981. He started his career in the Saint Joseph County Probation Department and went on to work in the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 2 years. In 1987, he became an FBI Special Agent until retiring in 2015.

Ron loved life, embraced adventure, and always prioritized his family. He was married to the love of his life, Gail, for 35 years and raised two beautiful daughters, Sarah and Emily.

Ron could always be found with a smile on his face. His infectious laugh touched the hearts of anyone he encountered. He enjoyed playing golf, reading, joking with family and friends, and watching the gorgeous Florida sunsets. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved watching Notre Dame football and his Detroit teams. Throughout the years, he traveled all over the world. From Germany to Argentina to Brazil, his specialty was planning trips and embracing new cultures. He even walked the El Camino de Santiago in Spain, a lifelong dream of his. Although he wasn’t a handyman, he enjoyed spending time working on his daughter and son-in-law’s ranch in Okeechobee. His generous spirit also brought him to Illinois last year to work as the ‘manny’, watching his grandson, Jack Ronald. He was filled with joy when going on walks to the park, reading books, and spending quality time with his sweet grandbabies, Jack and Lia. He truly lived a wonderful life.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gail; two daughters, Sarah (Louie) Ruszkowski and Emily (Santiago) Espinoza Hernandez; two beloved grandchildren, Jack Ronald and Lia Sofie; mother, Iris; and four brothers, Rick, Ken, Gary (Diane), and Mike (Becky); and multiple nieces and nephews. His legacy will live on in our hearts and be carried on by our families’ future generations.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1850 Sixth Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960 (with current safe practice restrictions in place).

Arrangements by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.

We are sure Ron will walk eternally in the house of the Lord and that he will live eternally in the hearts and minds if all who knew him. He was truly an inspiration, a man of integrity, honesty, and faith. He loved good wine, a funny story, good seafood and carrots. He loved a rousing game of marbles, lively conversation, movie night with the guys and, oh by the way, have you seen him dance the tango? He displayed his love to his wife and family constantly, and left no doubt a friend was a friend forever.

Ron’s passing has left a hole in our hearts that cannot be filled. His kind and gentle demeanor along with his wonderful laugh and sense of humor will be greatly missed. Greg is so thankful that he had the opportunity for one last round of golf and Greg and I feel blessed that we had a wonderful time together that evening. We are certain that one day we will all meet again and find comfort that he is waiting for his family and friends, until we meet again.

Gail & Family – words cannot express the sadness that I feel at Ron’s passing. While we did not see each other over a number of years, when we did get together it was as if no time had passed between us. Gail – I look back fondly on our ND / M football weekend last Fall and will always cherish that memory. Keep the Faith and know that Ron’s Love and Spirit will always be with you! God’s Blessings to All, Bob Z

To the Ryniak family. So sorry to hear about Ron’s passing. I was a childhood friend of Ron’s growing up just one block away from each other and actually had the same address just on different streets. We went through grade school and high school together. Ron was always one of the nicer people you would ever meet. As a kid growing up we used to play a game called “pom-pom tackle”. Ron was always the last one to get tackled because he was extremely quick and would out-dodge everyone! May he rest in peace!

Gail, I am so sorry and sad for you, and your family. I had no idea. Your friendship is very special to me, know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Ron was such a nice man. If you need a little “Laff” to cheer you, remember the day you and I were so busy gabbing, that Lucy, my dog fell in your swimming pool. Love and blessings dear friend.
