On September 17, 2020 Rosanne “Sue” Beadles McAboy passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was 88 years old. She was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania on July 3,193, the daughter of Gladys Fleming and Frank H. Beadles.

Living the life of a proud military daughter, her early years were spent in Illinois, Michigan and New Jersey where she graduated from Highland Park High School. She spent her college years at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and was a  member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.  While attending Northwestern, she met her best friend and husband Thomas Hatfield McAboy. Her early married life followed her husband’s business career with The Travelers Insurance Company. Together, their marriage found them in Miami and Lake Worth, Florida, moving to Wilmington Delaware, and finally settling in West Hartford, Connecticut.

Along the way,  Sue and Tom had three children;  Marilyn, Carolyn and Scott.   Sue always made time for everyone. She continually provided support and love for her family. She and her husband worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids.

Her early retired life continued to keep her busy spending her summers in East Orleans, on Cape Cod, winters on Hilton Head Island and eventually Vero Beach Florida. While on the Cape, she was active in the ladies’ golf programs at Eastward Ho! Country Club in Chatham. She served as President of the Ladies’ Golf Group. While in Vero Beach, she was a member of the Moorings Club as well as the Vero Beach Bridge Club.

In retirement,  she continued an active lifestyle, sailing the eastern seaboard with her husband in the fall and winter months. They were members of the Essex Yacht Club in Essex Connecticut and the Harbour Town Yacht Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Sue was predeceased by her husband of 67 years and is survived by her three children, Marilyn McAboy, Carolyn Hall, and Scott McAboy, and her granddaughter, Melanie McAboy.
