Ruth Silverman passed away Saturday, July 30th, after a brief illness, at the age of 92 in Vero Beach, FL.

Ruth was born to Frieda and Irving Kohansky in Brooklyn, New York. She was predeceased by Alfred Silverman, her loving husband of 57 years. She lived in Waterbury, CT for 28 years and was an executive secretary at Republican-American newspaper for 12 years.

She had resided in Greenacres, FL, retiring from her position with Temple Beth Tikvah at the age of 86.

Ruth is survived by a sister, Marilyn Goodman, Tamarac, FL, three children, Debra (Silverman) and Jeffrey Rapoport, Vero Beach, David, and Jayne (Muroff) Silverman, Dedham, ME, Howard Silverman, Bridgewater, CT, and four grandchildren, Jordan Rapoport, Austin, Samantha (Rapoport) Bart and her husband, Daniel, Chicago, Casey (Silverman) Harris and her husband Jonathan, New Providence, NJ, and Dr. Michael Silverman, Atlanta, and by her beloved companion, Rudolpho Gonzalez, Port St. Lucie, FL.

She was a past member of B’Nai Shalom Synagogue, Waterbury, CT.
