It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Vikram Bhatt on June 10, 2023, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL.  His journey through life touched the hearts of so many.

Vikram was born in Ahmedabad, India on July 28, 1951. He pursued a path filled with determination, achievements, and great kindness, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He began his educational journey in Anand, India graduating from Sharda High School.   He then went on to further his education beginning at Sardar Patel University, in Vidyanagar, India.

In 1972, Vikram and his lifelong friend, Girish Brahmbhatt, travelled to the United States arriving in Palm Beach, FL.  There, he continued his education at Palm Beach International College obtaining an MBA followed by a transfer to Rutgers University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering as well as a Bachelor’s of Science in Plastics Engineering.

In his profession, he was employed by The West Company in Marlboro, New Jersey.  His dedication and hard work led him to achieve many milestones, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers.

In 1991, Vikram and Charu moved to India to spend quality time with their aging parents.  They built his dream home in Baroda, a beautiful farmhouse located on 2.5 acres of land. The farm was his life.  He cultivated and maintained all types of exotic fruits and vegetables.  He was very proud of his home and welcomed friends and family with such warmth and kindness.  He loved entertaining guests often cooking meals from different cuisines using fresh ingredients from his garden.  His 4 guard dogs, which he adored, will surely miss his presence.

Vikram loved travelling the world with Charu making wonderful memories in many different countries.  When these journeys led them to places and people they knew, he never missed an opportunity to visit each and every friend and family member along the way.

Vikram is survived by his loving family, including his wife Charu of 50 years, mother Shantaben, sister Dipika, brother Tushar & wife Mina, niece Tulsi & husband Aditya, and a large extended family.  He is preceded in death by his father Rameshchandra.

Vikram, may your soul find eternal peace. You will be deeply missed by friends and family across the globe.

A service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, 1655 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32962.

Very first time I met him in New York, he talked about staying near a farm in India. Him and Charu both lived their dream life. He lived his life to the fullest with Wonderful life partner Charu. Vik masa as I fondly call him has left us with abundant cherishable memories ibe it in Baroda Matheran or even New Jersey. Shanti farm will not be the same without him . I will miss seeing him sit on his favourite swing with Shyamu sitting close by him. Since I moved to Baroda we have celebrated birthdays, festivals , special occasions and even the lockdown period together. It was always a pleasure to see him cook for all of us with a lot of passion and love and make drinks for us. His favourite one liners – Mashalo aalis, master, and while playing chopat always teasing my Mom.. making us all laugh with his typical charotari words. The T.V room where he has spent so many hours , with so many different people, watching cricket matches, catching up on news, various shows, discussing issues and sometimes just quiet time … his love for Indian sweets , and his enthusiasm to go shopping … Vik masa I can go on and on .. will miss you always , you are very special to me. I’m sure you are in a better place and at peace now. Jai swaminarayan

I am sorry for our loss. Kaki, if you are reading this, please know, me and Tulsi are here for you, always. As you know, Tushar Dad and Meena Mom stayed with him and Kaki during his challenging moments. Tulsi , Foi and Baa and all of the people here were very concerned and prayed for his health. Today, it is known to me that he is going to be missed and will be living in people’s memories, as an has been an amazing father like figure, husband, brother, son, friend and just about a great human. Full disclosure, my interaction with Kaka was limited to one video conversation during his final days with us. But, fortunately, the entire conversation was filled with love, joy and a sense of acceptance for one another. And I have no doubt, that I would get to know him very well by his stories and the amazing memories he has created with many. Special thanks for all for sharing your memories together. Last but not the least, me, Tulsi and all of the Kapadia family are joining in spirit, to pray for his soul to be blessed and may he rest in peace. – Adi.

Dear Vikram Masa, although I’ve not had the opportunity to have spent enough time with you, I have vivid memories of you from my childhood. Among these are two specific instances that I remember- one was whenever someone suffered from cold, you gave the best solution (a shot of rum/whiskey/brandy). I’m smiling while writing this. And the other was when you visited my grandpa (dada) in Baroda and he’d have elaborate discussions about his trips abroad and you’d patiently hear him while I’d keep giggling hearing dada call Japanese people japla. You’d crack up to seeing me giggle. I think I’ll always remember you being the chilled out person that you were. Charu masi has always been strict and disciplined and you balanced her with your easygoing attitude. You were always very helping and kind. I hope you’re at peace wherever you are and smiling down at us.

Vikram was very loving, kind and gentle human being. We knew him for a long long time. Since Charu decided to marry him! We gave away our beloved Charu to him in marriage. Spent quality time with both of them. Felt very sad when they decided to go back to India. I knew he loved India a lot and always wanted to go back. He was very happy there. We have lots of sweet memories and it hurts a lot that he is no longer with us. My entire family is very sad. Charu is my cousin and seeing her without Vikram is hard to fathom . Love my dear and will miss you a lot for years to come.
